What is the point of having a tablet if you have a laptop and an android phone?
Q. I have been looking into different tablets, but what is the point of having a tablet if I have a laptop and an android phone? Do tablets play music?
A. personally tablets are useless. they're a highly marked up fad brought on by apple because they have no real products to compete in the real world.
I have an android a laptop and tablet. My wife realizes now the tablet is useless. she uses it to play words with friends and draw something. it's easier for her to see. but mostly.. the phone is used more.
I prefer a laptop, I can do 100 times the things with it. yes, it's bigger and bulkier, but the laptop is more utilitarian for me. If I want to download a large file, I can! If I want to run a program I just downloaded, I can!
the tablet.. I have to transfer it to the laptop. It's easier to use a tablet if you're just reading news or ebooks or even listening to music, or chatting via skype or whatever.. but aside from that, I prefer a laptop.

What brand in your opinion has the best processor and operating software in tablet form and why?
Q. From an operating software stand point, I hear of gingerbread, ice cream, ios5, android versions and on and on. And then the processors from companies like Intel are all smaller and faster. If you can help me tell the difference in simple terms it would be greatly appreciated.
A. There are currently 3 or 4 operating systems that are in use for tablets right now, which are listed in order of market share (popularity)
IOS5
Android (note: Android comes in different versions, and each version has different names -- Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb and Ice Cream Sandwich)
Windows 7 and Windows 8 (which is currently in development and we'll start to see this in the market very soon)
QNX (only on the Blackberry Playbook) and WebOS (only the HP Touchpad)
There are also a lot of CPU makers -- which are not listed in order:
Qualcomm
Samsung
ARM Holdings
Intel
VIA
Texas Instruments (yes, those guys who make calculators)
Rockchip
Telechip
Out of that group, Samsung, Qualcomm and ARM have the largest piece of the market share pie (though I'm not exactly sure of the order). Intel currently have a very small niche of the market since Windows based tablets aren't as popular as iPads or Android tabs.
In terms of Market share, iPads currently have the lead, but from a news source:
>
Apple's share has shrunk from 68% to 58% globally, for the sake of Android tablets, which went from 29% to 39%.
Microsoft is said to hold 1% of the market, so that leaves the rest 2% for RIM's BlackBerry PlayBook and the like.
