Q. Okay so at the moment im thinking of buying a new tablet i have an idea of which one i want and its either the

or
MOTOROLA XOOM Android Tablet (10.1-Inch, 32GB, Wi-Fi)

out of these 2 which one is better and if you guys have any suggestions on another one please recommend it, but please dont say an ipad as i already have one.

- Great browsing and gaming experience
- Flash is enabled

Where can I currently purchase a Gateway TP A60 tablet online?
Q. I'm looking to pick up another tablet, just as a gadget to play around with on the side.. but I can't find any information at all about the Gateway A60 Android tablet that came out late last year? Can anyone help me find it?

A. Gateway is a subsidiary of Acer, which rebranded the Acer Iconia Tab A500 and changed the exterior look a bit. But internally, the A60 and the A500 are the exact same product, and even sold for the same price.

There's little to no information out there as to what exactly happened, but it appears the A60 was a failed business venture and they've since pulled the whole Gateway tablet line.

If you'd like some information on the Acer A500, here's a link where you can read up on and/or buy it.

can any android tablet with a front facing camera be able to video call ?
Q. i am confused with all the different types of android google tablets.
all i want is a tablet to make video calls with skype...can i do this with any tablet with a front facing camera ??

A. Thanks for your question.

Some Tablet PCs with front facing cameras support Skype video calls - all the OEM versions including Samsung Galaxy, the Acer Iconia tablets will work well - ensure that the Tablet PC runs at least Android 2.2 (Android 3 and 4 will surely work).

If you have other Android Tablet PCs, especially those costing about $100 - $199, you may want to use Tango as the alternative Video calling solution. You can perform Video calls with iPhones, iPads and PCs. I have tried it and it works well.

Which is better the ipad 2 or the acer tablet?
Q. so yea i know the ipad 2 has awesome graphics its thiner. but which one is better cause ipad 2 does not have flash player its not internet tablet and its ios 5. but the android acer 10 tablet has like flash player it has games, you can download stuff from the inter net. but which one is better?

A. In the tablets market, iPad 2 is the undisputed leader as of now. The absence of Flash player is a minor problem given the fact that many browsers are slowly starting to support HTML5, the replacement for Flash.

What is the best android tablet on the market right now?

Q. I need help deciding. I know apple's ipad is the king of tablets however android has alot more flexibility with how much you can modify your tablet to how you want it. But I am having a hard time deciding, I am leaning towards the Samsung Galaxy right now. My main thing I am concened about is that the tablet must have a front facing camera with the ability to chat w/Skype.
Really appreciate the answers so far guys thanks!

A. Definately the Motorola XOOM by far my current favorite, saving up to get mine now and have been doing a ton of research, i dont like the ipad because it doesnt have an operating system and im tried of having to buy apps to run anything. The xoom is way cool will be great for skype and runs the android 3.0 honeycomb unlike some of the other devices that still use 2.2. overall and for the price its gotta be the xoom, attaching a review i just googled so you can look at more details cause im lazy and dont wanna type them all out... good luck

A. You can install pretty much any Android app on the new tablets, but how well they work varies from app to app

What is the most convenient and portable Windows tablet?
Q. My dream device is as small as and as light as an iPad.
But is a tablet PC, having a keyboard attached to it, with the screen having multi-touch functions like the iPad.
It also has to be running Windows, have USB Ports and a front camera.

I'm looking for a tablet as similar to this and as good as possible!

A. I have a few that I would recommend and they have great price tags:

Motorola XOOM Android Tablet (Verizon Wireless)
*Fast 3G connectivity thanks to the reliable Verizon Wireless EV-DO, Rev A network.
Upgradeable to ultra-fast 4G LTE connectivity via the Verizon Wireless 4G Mobile Broadband network, with expected download speeds of 5 to 12 Mbps and upload speeds of 2 to 5 Mbps. See more about 4G LTE below.
*Onboard GPS for navigation and location services.
*Integrated Google Maps with turn-by-turn navigation, street and satellite views.
*Ultra-fast Wireless-N Wi-Fi networking (802.11b/g/n) for accessing home and corporate networks as well as hotspots while on the go.
*Mobile Hotspot capability allows you to create a Wi-Fi hotspot using your Verizon Wireless 3G/4G LTE connection, which can then be shared among up to 5 Wi-Fi-capable devices.
*Bluetooth connectivity (version 2.1) includes profiles for communication headset, hands-free car kits, and the A2DP audio streaming Bluetooth profiles.
*32 GB internal memory
*5-megapixel rear-facing camera for optimized resolution when capturing photos on the go. Includes dual-LED flash, auto-focus, and digital zoom.
*2-megapixel front-facing camera for video chats. Includes indicator light when used.

What is the best brand of tablet with the most features and biggest screen size?
Q. I am not a fan of the ipad but am interested to see what people think is the best tablet on the market NOT including the ipad (which i think is priced too high and popular due to consumer hype.) I am in the market for one but got overwhelmed when I went to the store. What tablet has the best features, memory, screen size etc. At the store I played with the samsung tablet and blackberry but I don't know much about either. thanks

A. Apple achieves high levels of fit and finish on their products, but, yes, they're relatively expensive. It sounds like you'd prefer the more open approach of Android tablets, which also happen to have much better cameras than the iPad. That's certainly fine. Here are some other considerations...

If cellular service is important, you may want to consider which tablet your favorite carrier supports:

Verizon:Galaxy Tab 10.1, iPad 2, Xoom, and Galaxy Tab

T-Mobile:G-Slate, Streak 7, and Galaxy Tab

Sprint:PlayBook and Galaxy Tab

AT&T:iPad 2 and Galaxy Tab

None:Eee Slate, Slate 500, TouchPad, Thrive, Eee Pad TF101, Iconia Tab A500, Archos 101, Archos 70, and NOOK Color

For overall value, the ASUS Eee Transformer (TF101) has surprisingly good specs for under $400: Android 3.1, 10.1 inch 1280x800 IPS (like iPad, but bigger and higher resolution) display, up to 9 hours of battery life (16 hours if optional dock added), optional ability to dock with keyboard, 1 GHz Tegra 250 ARM CPU with 1 GB RAM, good array of ports (mini HDMI, SD, micro SD), preloaded Polaris Office 3.0 for editing documents (.doc), spreadsheets (.xls) and presentation (.ppt) files. Note, though, no 3G (however people report success in tethering it to smart phones).

If Windows OS compatibility or a digitizer pen is important to you, go for the ASUS Eee Slate or HP Slate 500. The biggest differences between those are that the ASUS has a better display (12.1 inch AFFS 1280x800) than the HP (8.9 inch TFT 1024x600) but is larger, heavier and more expensive.

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 is the thinnest (0.336 inches) and lightest (1.25 lbs) the big-screen (greater than 9 inch) tablets.

If high-end video recording is important to you, consider the LG G-Slate or BlackBerry PlayBook, both of which can record at 1080p. The still cameras on those devices are pretty good too: G-Slate has Dual 5 MP rear cameras and a 2MP front camera; PlayBook has 5MP front and 3MP rear cameras.

Motorola Xoom: Heavier and thicker than both the iPad or Galaxy Tab, the Xoom's advantage is that it has HDMI out and micro USB ports. It also has a 5MP rear camera compared to Tab's 3MP and iPad's lousy 0.7MP.

What are the diffences of the iPad, and Android tablet? 10pts best answer!?

Q. Hi,

I wanted to know what the differences were between the iPad 2, and the Android Tablet. Also, could I get a vote on which one is better? I want as much information as I can get, (but not copyright, obviously) but breef, and easy to understand.

10 pts best answer!

Thanks so much!

A. iPad 2 Advantages:

IPads have a higher degree of fit-and-finish than the competition. Like iPhones vs other smart phones, iPods vs other MP3 players, or Macs vs PC's, iPads are widely regarded as being more refined and polished than the competition. iPad also has a large and refined App Store (although Android Market is closing the gap).

iPad 2 Disadvantages:

1. No Flash.
2. No SD expansion; no HDMI port; no USB port.
3. ASUS Eee Transformer has a better display (10.1 inch, 1280x800, IPS vs 9.7 inch, 1024x768, IPS) for less money.
4. PlayBook and G-Slate have better rear camera video recording (1080p vs 720p).
5. PlayBook has much better front camera video recording (1080p vs VGA).
6. Almost all tablets have better camera resolution than iPad's lousy 0.7 MP.

Can you upload a document to a website from an android tablet?
Q. Hi,
I am sometimes required to upload documents from a computer to a website, and I was wondering if on the samsung galaxy note 10.1 i could upload docs to a website. (Not just google docs) Also, what app can I use to create documents on it/ (All coming from a locked down apple iPad user who hates iOS 6/)

A. Of course you can.The thing you should note is that if the websites support your documents.

Which android tablet do you think is best to buy?
Q. Cause every android tablet i look at all of them have bad reviews and i just don't know which one to buy

A. The best Android tablet computer depends on your needs...

At the low end, $199 can get you a Nook Color, which has an ereader orientation but is really a budget, 7-inch, camera-less, tablet running Android 2.2. Better than the color Nook is the new Kindle Fire ($199) or the new Nook Tablet ($249). If you can do without cameras, SD slots and 3G, the Kindle Fire offers great web browsing with its new (cloud-accelerated) Silk browser. The Nook Tablet lacks the advanced Silk browser and is more expensive but does have an SD slot and more memory (16G).

If high-end video recording is important to you, consider the LG G-Slate, which can record at 1080p.

Note that there's a successor in the works going by the name of "Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime" that's expected to have an even faster (quad-core) processor.

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 (0.336 inches) is the thinnest lightest (1.25 lbs) of the big-screen (greater than 9 inch) tablets.

Motorola Xoom is heavier and thicker than the Galaxy Tab 10.1. The Xoom's advantage is that it has HDMI out and micro USB ports. It also has a 5MP rear camera compared to Tab's 3MP. The Xoom has a front webcam and a 720p rear video camera; the Tab has only the 720p rear video camera.

Finally, if cellular service is important, you may want to consider which tablet your favorite carrier supports:

None:Eee Slate, Slate 500, TouchPad, Thrive, Eee Pad TF101, Iconia Tab A500, Archos 101, Archos 70, VIZIO VTAB1008, NOOK Color, Kindle Fire, and NOOK Tablet
AT&T:Galaxy Tab
Sprint:PlayBook and Galaxy Tab
T-Mobile:G-Slate, Streak 7, and Galaxy Tab
Verizon:Galaxy Tab 10.1, Xoom, and Galaxy Tab
Unlocked: Grid 10

What is an inexpensive tablet pc that can handle drawing and making art well?
Q. I am looking for a relatively cheap tablet pc that can read .pdfs. I would also like it to be able to run an art program like Adobe Photoshop or Paint Tool SAI. It should also have wifi. I am wondering if such a tablet exists, or if I would be better off going with a laptop PC.

A. They do exist but whether they are 'better' than a laptop is debatable. There are a number of laptops that can also double as tablets, the screens either fold back over the keyboard or can be 'flipped' over and some that just have touch screens but still function like normal laptops (they dont fold back/flip)

Both the art programs you have mentioned are Windows based so you will need a windows based tablet PC (rather than android tablet or an iPad). The cheapest I've seen are refurbished or second hand units starting from £160-200 but they tend to have smaller capcity (either SSD or HD). The full price units are obviously more , expect to pay £500+ ( some are closer to 1K) for a high spec one. Look at the Fujitsu Stylistic ST5112 , Viewsonic ViewPad, Archos 9, ASUS Eee Pad or Acer ICONIA ranges. There are also numerous 'cheap' nonbranded resellers on eBay.

What is the best tablet to buy for the best price?
Q. I want a tablet that you can connect to wifi and you don't have to pay an extar fee each month to have internet

A. These tablet computers have WiFi only (no 3G and so no monthly bills): Eee Slate, Slate 500, TouchPad, Thrive, Eee Pad TF101, Iconia Tab A500, Archos 101, Archos 70, NOOK Color, Kindle Fire, and NOOK Tablet. Some of the others mentioned below can be bought with or without 3G.

At the low end, $249 can get you a Nook Color, which has an ereader orientation but is really a budget, 7-inch, camera-less, tablet running Android 2.2. Better than the color Nook is the new Kindle Fire ($199) or the new Nook Tablet ($249). Both the Eee Slate and the HP Slate 500 are expensive, however: Eee Slate is ~$1,200; HP Slate 500, ~$770. A more economical Windows 7 tablet is the Acer Tab W500, which runs about $500 and includes a keyboard and dock.

If high-end video recording is important to you, consider the LG G-Slate or BlackBerry Playbook, both of which can record at 1080p.

The iPad (0.34 inches) and Galaxy Tab 10.1 (0.336 inches) are the thinnest. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 (1.25 lbs) is the lightest of the big-screen (greater than 9 inch) tablets.

What is a good tablet to buy?

Q. I am looking for a decent tablet for around $300 with a nice screen, any suggestions?

A. You can get a 1st generation refurbished iPad for around $349.
If you want a decent Android tablet, the least expensive one that's worth the purchase is the ASUS Eeee Pad Transformer - around $399.
Stay away from the off-brand Chinese-manufactured tablets. They can run from $250-350, but price is definitely NOT quality. The are horrible!

Is the price of Samsung Galaxy tab expected to fall by December end?
Q. I don't need it right now.

A. There are three Galaxy Tabs. The 7", 8.9" and 10.1". Likely, you'll see a price drop on all three by year end.
The "next-generation" of Android tablets will be coming out by the holiday season. These quad-core powered tablets, like the Amazon Hollywood, will push the price of the current top-line models down quite a bit.
Seriously consider a factory refurbished model. They've been fully reconditioned to like-new status by Samsung and are usually about $100 less expensive than new, with the same warranty. Just make sure its a "factory" refurbished model.

How to convert from IOS to Nexus 7?
Q. I want to get an iPad for school, but a Nexus 7 is just so much better wallet wise. I know very little about Android and want to know if I can download my iTunes library (all recent and not protected) to the tablet. Also, I dont have a credit card. Is there a way to add credit without said card (such as an iTunes gift card)?

A. First the music:
Yes, if the music is unprotected, you can transfer it onto the Nexus 7. I would recommend using DoubleTwist as your music player.

Next, Gift Card:
Yes, and it was just made possible by Google. Go to Target/GameStop, and buy a Google Play Store Gift Card and redeem it in the Google Play store.

Last, on iPad
According to rumors, a 7" iPad will be released soon. And with the screen being smaller, so will the price. Also, on apple.com, you can buy the non-retina iPad (iPad 2) for cheaper. And if you want it even cheaper, go to the refurbished store of Apple and buy one there.

And may I recommend just going with the iPad. it has so much support from software developers, hardware manufactures, and the general tech-community, which makes it really good for school. The Nexus 7 doesn't have that.

Which is better, the nook color or kindle fire?
Q. I would like to buy one, and I can't find many differences beside storage space ans the fire's ability to store movies. So, I guess my biggest question is which device would best for reading? Which one would give me more access to books? What about free books? And no, I don't want to buy Amazon Prime.

A. Hi Carissa, first of all you're absolutely correct that Amazon Prime is worthless - for $79/year you get 13,000 movies and 10,000 books included while Netflix for $8 a month has millions of movies and B&N ebook store has millions of books (and over 2.5 million free ones). Also it's worth mentioning that if you walk in with any Nook to Barnes & Noble store, you'll get tech support and youre allowed to read ANY available eBook for free while in the store via free provided in the store Wi-Fi. It is confirmed at this time that many Kindle Fire units have faulty Wi-Fi and people have a lot of issues connecting to internet according to many user reviews. Other issues are that it runs hot to touch, video playback is jerky, touch screen is not responsive and it takes 2-3 touches to register, power button placement is very poor and is prone to accidental power off, all the hype of Silk browser is a myth where the browsing is actually slower than on other Android tablets, etc.
Nook Tablet (which is Nook Color 2) has been getting rave reviews and it is the best device in it's class - much better than Kindle Fire. It's got Netflix, Hulu, Pandora, Angry Brids, etc., the best battery life (30% better than Fire), the best non-glare laminated screen (vs. very reflective screen of Fire), double the RAM and space for apps/photos/movies, microSD slot, a microphone for Skype, and physical volume controls on the side (neither of those is on Kindle Fire.)
Also, did you know that you can actually get refurbished Nook Color for $139 on OverStock.com or in official B&N store on eBay.com with one year warranty and that Nook Color now streams Netflix movies and got a lot of apps (Angry Birds, etc.)?

What android tablets currently are running Ice Cream Sandwich or 4.0?

Q. I am looking for an android tablet that is currently running the newest android software. I am looking for one that might not cost to much but the main deal breaker is what it is running.

A. Few are commercially released with Ice Cream Sandwich but are capable of upgrading to it once its released. Example, Motorola's Xoom or XYBOARD tablet says:

Android 3.1 (Honeycomb).
Upgradeable to Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)

There were rumors that ICS was going to be released on the tablet early this year (2012) but latest rumors now have it at mid-end of 2012 *shrugs*

What kinds of tablets should I look into?
Q. I want this tablet so that I can take my college work away from my PC laptop, which is a pain because the touch pad is clunky and the mouse is a bother. I want this tablet to be able to sync with my PC. I don't know if iPads work with windows PCs... do they?

If not what android tablets should I consider? Note that I have an android phone so android will be fine with me if there are any complications with iPad

IMPORTANT : I would love it if I could get the tablet to control the mouse on my PC. If nothing else, this would make my world (or tablet :p)

Price aside (or cheap vs expensive), what should I be looking for?

A. I have some suggestions for you,

1. Microsoft Surface RT- This Tablet can replace a PC but it doesn't have to, seriously consider that.

2. ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity- it is a very nice high quality android tablet with a laptop dock for easier typing and navigation.

3. Google Nexus 10- this tablet isn't really meant for work its more fun but its coming straight from google so you will have the latest version of android before anyone else.

4. iPad 4th Generation- Everybody knows iPads can perform, you will never run out of apps but, iOS gets very boring after a while.

5.

What kind of tablet out there are worth buying?
Q. A kind of tablet where I can connect it to my computer to download movies on it and PDF/ebooks files and Internet access. I would go with I pad, but i really don't like really like iTunes. I really need a good tablet! Or the one that is worth buying.

Thanks.

A. I personally like galaxy tab 10.1. It has a large display and latest android tablet os. I too am not found of iTunes or iOS since its more restricted. But galaxy tab comes with the potential of android and packs all the features that's needed. Since it supports cellular connectivity, you can access your computer via remote access. So, in my opinion, galaxy tab 10.1 would be the best buy. :)

out of these 2 which one is better and if you guys have any suggestions on another one please recommend it, but please dont say an ipad as i already have one.

A. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2

A. some people's minds move in different directions. I have an android phone, too; it is because i have seen what android can do, is the reason behind me wanting an android tablet. The fact is: i'm buying an android tablet, solely behind one of the games i was playing on my phone.
Like you, i've thought about what use a redundant device would be to me; and besides this particular game i like, which by the way, is a defense tower game, i also notice with a tablet, my Netflix will come in bigger and crisper; my maps won't be so squinty sharp, but larger and easier to read the fine print. The comics from Marvel i have on my phone will now return to their stature of glory and definition, on my 10" screen and 1280 x 800 resolution, far exceeding my phones' meager 480x800 res..i'm more than ready to join the 21st century, with Capt. America and DareDevil on a hi res screen of a sleek tablet, page after page..
A tablet is more versatile for me when shopping, too: something the size of a notepad, at 10", rather than something the size of a scrap of paper, when grocery shopping, or scanning store items with the bar code and QR apps....
I use my android phone for making calls; and besides that, i mostly use it for an MP3 player. On that phone, i also have apps for Netflix, TV, newswire, and many advanced games, all of which look a lot better , bigger and clearer on a tablet.

Take my first sentence to heart,...cuz what your mom may have thought was, since you graduated, and are a little smarter, you may have realized your puny phone is only scratching the surface of the potential of the android OS.

can a android tablet connect to internet without a local area network available?

Q. Please try to clarify your response to THE BEST OF YOUR ABILITY.... i'm trying to find out if the Google Android Tablet has wifi built in like the Droid does.

A. There isn't "A google android tablet" there are many. 99% of them are WiFi enabled which means you will be able to connect to the internet with them if you are in range of a wireless network to which you have access such as your home, office or school network or one of the many thousands of WiFi hotspots in public places. In order to connect without a WiFi network you need a 3g connection which the more expensive android tablets can do. Tablets such as the Samsung Galaxy tab and the commtiva N700 will take a 3g sim which allows you to surf the net anywhere you have a 3g signal.
Some WiFi only tablets are compatible with 3g mobile broadband dongles which do the same job but stick out the side of your tablet.

How can you get g chat notifications on your android phone?
Q. I want to get a notification on my phone if someone messages me on g chat, is that possibly and if so how? My boyfriend has an android tablet and every time someone messages him on g chat it rings and I would like have that too. Thanks!

A. What you describe is the default behavior when you're online (3G or Wifi). Anyway, if that's not the case, you may want to check your notifications settings (in phone settings), and ensure you have it on ring, vibrate, or light (for instance).

What's your phone model anyway? It could help.

How much data would one need for simple internet browsing?
Q. I'm planning on getting an android tablet and I'm not sure how much data I would need: 1GB, 2GB, or 5GB. I'll basically just be visiting sites, watching youtube/flash videos, and accessing apps. I'll mostly use it at home though, where I have wi-fi. Which would be sufficient?
Will the data that I use at home (on wi-fi) affect the amount that I have left on my plan?

A. Hi Tammy:

"Simple internet browsing" is such a subjective term these days. "Just visiting websites" isn't as always as simple as it may seem--depending on the content of the website (especially if any streaming videos are involved in the equation).

Your best bet is to discuss what you'll be doing with your provider and get their recommendations. If you were "just visiting sites", you could get away with the lower-end (1- 2GB plans). However, because you plan to be watching YouTube/flahs videos (and if uploading downloading photos are also in the equation) away from home, then the 5GB plan would be "optimal."

Again--if you start viewing more videos and uploading/downloading photos away from home WiFi; you'll definitely need the bigger data plan.

You can always start with 1- 2GB and then upgrade the plan after you've reviewed your first month of usage. However--during the first month of owning your tablet, I'd ease-of and not "go crazy" with the usage outside the home. Like most things, it's best to "start easy" and then "ramp up" as you go...

Using your WiFi at home doesn't count against your data plan--provided you remember to switch your tablet to use WiFi at home (or configure it to automatically do so when at home). As a Droid user myself, I often have to "double-check" my device to make sure it's in fact using WiFi and not 3G.

Hope this helps...

Best cheap solution for tablet with video chatting capabilities?

Q. I have been looking into android tablets and was trying to find the best option for a tablet that would also be able to video chat. I don't know if that would mean a tablet capable of video chat with its own camera or through connecting a webcam through USB. I am not looking for an ipad, I was leaning more towards the android tablets but other suggestions are welcome! Please specify the model if possible! Thank you!

A. This tablet should be the cheapest if you want to do video chatting:

There's something about video chat at the end of this article. It should help you know more on how to choose a tablet as well:

How is Cube U9GT4 Comparing with Ainol Crystal? When is Cube U9GT5 Coming Out?
Q. I'm gonna find a cheap android tablet for my nephew,I just read a number of reviews about Ainol Crystal on engadget and other great blog. That tablet seems a good choice, but I find the tech specs of U9GT4 impressive too.
I need someone give me a professional suggestion.

A. Looks
Keywords:angular,round
The same 7'' tablet, the same light plastic shell, the similar classic white back cover and black front face, cube u9gt4 shares too much commons with ainol novo 7 crystal. The main difference I feel is the sense of touch.when I'm holding cube u9gt4,it touches sharp and angular, while ainol crystal is kind of round and smooth designed.I can't say which one has higher quality, but ainol crystal looks cheaper made than cube u9gt4 (BTW,I personally think it looks like rumored mini ipad pic).

Tech Specs
Keywords:low cost,high quality.
Within $100 tablets, cube u9gt4 and ainol crystal are without doubt the best choices as holiday gifts.
specs, cube runs a RK3066 1.6GHz cortex-A9 dual core CPU,ainol crystal chooses an Amlogic 8726-M6 1.5GHz Cortex-A9 dual core, they both pack a 7'' 1024*600 capacitive screen IPS display, which looks great from all angles.Meanwhile, they have no rear cameras, cube u9gt4 has only one front face 2.0 Megapixels camera, ainol crystal,0.3 Megapixels. Both tablets are also the outstanding representatives of android 4.1 tablets in entry level tablet market.

From the WIFI and Benchmark tests,we can easily see that Cube U9GT4 receive stronger wifi signal than Ainol Crystal, though just a little bit.It also gets more scroes from benchmark test.

Cube U9GT5 is a China-based Retina display tablet, with 2048*1056 res and 264ppi(exactly the same as new ipad). From the news of official weibo of Cube,it will out on Oct 18th.

The xoom is way cool will be great for skype and runs the android 3.0 honeycomb unlike some of the other devices that still use 2.2. overall and for the price its gotta be the xoom, attaching a review i just googled so you can look at more details cause im lazy and dont wanna type them all out... good luck

What is a powerful android tablet that is cheap?
Q. I've been looking at the samsung galaxy tab 2 but I have heard mixed things in reviews.
Is there one like it or better for a the same or cheaper price?

A. The best android tablet in the budget category should be the Asus TF300. It is one of the lowest priced Tablet which comes with quad core processor. The quad-core processor has made this tablet the fastest Android device on the market. Apart from the quad-core processor, inside the tablet you will get a 1.2MP front camera for video conferencing and an 8MP rear camera with a large F2.2 aperture, 5-element lens allows for high quality images along with 1080p HD video recording. There is also a supreme audio courtesy of ASUS SonicMaster technology. All these features has made the Asus Transformer 300 an extra-ordinary piece of work.

Is there any microsoft word type app for an android tablet?

Q. So, I bought this android tablet thing for me to do my work on it. Is there any way I can type my work on the tablet, then put it on the computer? and if you know, is there a way to get a keyboard and mouse connected to it? thanks guys
oh also is there any jailbreak at all for android tablets?

A. Check out quickoffice HD pro and thinkfree office. You need to pay for these.

There are keyboards and mouses that you can connect to your tablet. You might need to look into it yourself since I don't know what tablet you got.

Whats a good android tablet and keyboard combination?
Q. Whats a good android tablet with that you can attach a keyboard and stays attached. I understand that this will cause my tablet to be bulky but I do not want to carry around a separate keyboard just for my android tablet. Are there any keyboards that can stay attached to the tablet?

Thanks

A. I'm not aware of any tablet that comes with this feature. Tablets are designed mainly for mobility. Having a keyboard attached makes it bulky and that makes less mobile. Moreover tables generally has larger display (7"+) and so a virtual keyboard is quite efficient in a tablet. So you may have to carry a separate keyboard. What are the pros and cons of ditching my Macbook for a Tablet?
Q. Hello-
I have a 2009 Macbook with a cracked screen. It still works perfectly fine minus a small obstruction in the corner, but I have estimated that the screen repair would be a little less than $200 with the part and labor. So, I have been considering 'downsizing' and getting an Android tablet. Here are my main "pros" for selling the laptop and getting a tablet:

-I am no longer in school and don't have much use for the Office suite
-More compact
-Good battery life (model-dependent, of course)
-Touch screen
-Lighter
-Ease of use
-Relatively inexpensive once I sell the laptop

And my reservations:

-I would need a new bluetooth printer, as mine is USB-based and I do not have WIFI at home to create a wireless printer network.
-Can my iPhone connect directly to the Android tablet interface to at least edit music/sync apps, etc?
-No CD/DVD drive
-Will need to buy keyboard/stand/other accessories

Will I be making my life more difficult by upgrading? If you have some experience in terms of switching out your technology, I'd be interested to hear some opinions. Thank you!
Sidenote; I'm moving in the near future, and just downsizing in general. My boyfriend also has a laptop, so we don't really need my laptop as well.

A. Well first off, buying a Macbook is buying a $500 Windows computer with Mac OSx installed at 2x to 3x the price. If you are using a Macbook for general computing (AKA: Facebook, music, images, etc) then a tablet wouldn't be that big of a change. If you are word processing, playing games, rendering, using photoshop, making music, making artwork, or generally like having a full size screen with keyboard. Stick to laptops.

Tablets fail at many things such as
- No physical keyboard and bluetooth keyboards are clumsy and awkward
- 1/2 the power of a laptop
- Smaller screen
- less hard drive space
- next to no USB support meaning flash drives are a no go
- much less programs and applications
- Play oriented, not really work oriented.

Tablets are better than laptops in
- Battery life
- start up time
- portability
- ease of use

How much will Google Chrome OS tablets and netbooks cost?
Q. Hey does anyone know how much a Google Chrome OS Netbook or tablet PC cost? I need a rough estimate so I can save up enough money. Also how long do you think until they will be out and available, I know Google Chrome OS is due to be finished and official released later this year, but will a tablet already be available ?

A. The price is going to depend on the hardware. Maybe $50-$100 less than their Windows 7 counterpart.

I've seen some Chinese made Android/Chrome tablets that are being marketed for under $100 in domestic stores, which means that they will be maybe $200 if they get to the US due to tax and company markups.

I've also seen some Android/Chrome tablets that have an estimated price of over $700, but less if you take out a data contract.

Some tablets are on sale right now, mostly only in Asia. So the hardware will be ready in the US by the sumer this year, and most certainly in time for the holiday sales in fall/winter.

At best guess, aim to save $500. That will but you an iPad. Everybody is aiming to either undercut the iPad in terms of price, or to beat it in terms of performance, so if you can afford an iPad then you will be able to afford the competition, too.

How to use my android tablet as a touch screen for my pc with touch interaction?
Q. I have a android 2.3 tablet and i want to use it as a touch screen for my windows 7 PC.I also want that my windows believe that it is a pen\touch input in it. With touch interference like up and down action, etc.

A. I think it is not possible as both your pc and your phone runs on different operating system.

But if you have a wifi connection than you can do it by just installing an app called 'Team Viewer'. It is available for both windows and android for free (just search on google and android market). Install it on your pc as well as on your android phone and read instructions on how to use it. Then you can control your pc from your android phone.

Hope this helps.

How do I use my Android Tablet Warranty?
Q. I bought a Android Tablet from an online shop via eBay and recieved it 3 days ago brand new in the box. Yesterday it stopped holding a charge. When I plug it in, the battery icon does not give me a charging sign when plugged into the charger. The tablet will stay on if the charger is plugged in but as soon as I unplug it, it gives me a 5% warning. How do I use my warranty to send it in to get fixed or replaced?

A. Go to the manufacturer website and call customer support or contact service center. They will advise you on what to do.

How do I unfreeze my kyros android tablet?
Q. I bought a kyros android tablet MID7012 not too long ago and a few days ago i went to turn it on but it froze right when it turned on and its stuck on the COBY screen. I have tried reseting it a bajillion times but it wont go past this screen, what do i do?

A. Thanks for your question.

The problem is most likely from the Android OS which maybe corrupt. The only solution here is to re-flash the Tablet with the firmware associated with the MID 7012. You can either contact Coby or go to http://androidforums.com to get the firmware and instructions on how to proceed.

What is the best tablet computer out there for both personal and business use?
Q. Like please compare the Samsung Note, the Motorola Playbook, the iPad, and the rest of the other generic Android tablets!!!

I would like to know which ones are the best for a combination of both personal and business use. Something that you can use at home to relax, but constantly switch to for use in the workplace, meetings, schedules, etc.

I would like to know the best tablets with decent specs, amount of internal memory, speed, wireless capabilities, how friendly the system is, as well as reviews on their operation system! Thanks!

A. Dude are you serious? The Ipad is by far greatest their has ever been in every aspect. Let me explain

The good: Apple's new iPad includes a stunning new screen, matched by a quad-core graphic processor and the world's largest app and media store to feed it content. There's a proper 5-megapixel rear camera now, with 1080p recording quality. Optional 4G data from AT&T and Verizon afford an uncompromising mobile experience.

The bad: The new iPad is slightly heavier than last year's model; apps and movies optimized for the screen might take up more space; and ports for HDMI, USB, and SD require adapters.

The bottom line: With a host of improvements--faster graphics, 4G wireless options, a better camera, and a gorgeous high-res screen--the latest iPad cements its position at the head of the tablet pack.

I know Amazon sells it lower than any other place in America and offers free shipping.

can a android tablet connect to internet without a local area network available?

The xoom is way cool will be great for skype and runs the android 3.0 honeycomb unlike some of the other devices that still use 2.2. overall and for the price its gotta be the xoom, attaching a review i just googled so you can look at more details cause im lazy and dont wanna type them all out...

What model of android tablets supports SMS messaging and calls?
Q. I'm finding a tablet that can be used as a phone with SMS messaging and call support like the samsung galaxy tab 7.0 plus...
Is there any other models or brand that has the same features?...
Price is not an issue...I just need info...
Thanks in advance!
Regards!

A. I can give you two choices ..... new android 4.0 tablets now available. Those tablet are the "iPad killers" and supporting SMS messaging with the "mySMS" application.

- Cube U9GT2 (16GB) ~249$

- ONDA vi40 Elite (16GB) ~289$

Both the Onda VI40 Android 4.0 IPS Capacitive tablet PC and the Cube U9T2 ICS have very similar specifications and features. First is the 9.7" Capacitive multi-touch IPS screen.

Onda made its name way back in 2008 when it released a 4.3" touch screen mp4 player that please called an iPod Touch wannabe or alternative. This model did well, but the marketing and product development of the company went astray.

This is why I was both suprised and happy to be reviewing first 9.7" Android 4.0 tablet PC by Onda, the VI40 Elite Edition Tablet PC. Boasting 9.7-inch 1024 x 768 capacitive multi-touch IPS display it seems to be 5-point touch. It adopts the fastest yet 1.5GHz ARM Cortex-A10 processor with Mali-400 GPU (graphics processor).

The onda VI40 Elite tablet also packs dual cameras, a 1.3 Mega Pixel front-facing camera and a 5.0M pixel rear-facing camera. More the VI40 supports 2160p Super HD video playback.

It has a 6500mAh battery giving you around 4.5 to 5 hours of internet surfing time.

The Cube U9GT2 also has a 9.7" IPS screen but with a more responsive 10-point multi touch screen. The processor is not as fast but will do the job clocking in at 1.2GHz on a Rockchip RK2918 CPU.

In addition to a better screen, the Cube Android 4.0 Tablet also has 16gb of built-in memory compared to Onda's 8gb. The Cube tablet also has larger 8000mah battery for 6 hours of internet surfing or "10 hours music, 4 hours video, 5 hours wifi."

The Cube doesn't have a 5mp camera but it does have dual 2 mega pixel cameras for quality photos and video from front and back.

The Onda VI40 Elite may prove to rule supreme as today's android tablet forum enthusiasts like the cheapest deal, even if the battery only gets an hour less usage from a full charge.

Both have microSD card slots so one could buy a memory card to make up for the 8gb of memory the Onda so dearly misses.

Last thought, the Apple iPad 2 should be wetting its pants now. Both of these tablets are more powerful and have just as responsive capacitive screens. Not to mention extra goodies like dual cameras and open source Ice Cream Sandwich. Yum!
