What is better? Archos 5 with android or the new Ipod Touch 4th generation?

Q. I was contemplating on getting a media tablet device, and I stumbled upon the archos 5 and the 4th generation ipod touch that just came out. I am interested in the movie watching and internet features that the devices have. what are the pros and cons of each? or what are the comparisons between them? I've never owned an ipod product before in my life, so I'm not sure how good it is.

A. I would definately suggest Apple iPod touch (4th Generation) NEWEST MODEL

Pros:
1.Wi-Fi capable Facetime (video chat with no 3G)
2.Game Center (challenge your friends play games and so much more)
3.About 50% thinner (0.28in;7.2mm)
4.Apple A4 processor chip faster than ever)
5.HD video recording
6.Retina Display (Pixels at 78 micrometers wide packing 326 pixels per inch)
7.Voice Control ( control your music with your voice)
8.iBooks (your own personal bookstore and reader)
9.iMovie (movie editing program redesigned for ipod touch)
10.Multitasking (Switch instantly between your favorite apps)
11.Folders (Make more room on your home screens for you favorite apps)

Cons:
1)More expensive than the last gen
2)Not out yet

How secure is the blackberry playbook?
Q. I am doing a comparison between several mobile os's, and the blackberry playbook is among them.

I was wondering how 'safe' the blackberry playbook is compared to other mobile os's. Android being a high target for malware, not so secure, versus iOS and Mango being a lot safer.

I was wondering how blackberry's OS compares to these.

A. BlackBerry have always been known for the security on their mobile phones, and the playbook is no exception. It offers several security features built right into the tablet.

As a corporate IT manager we only use blackberry phones and not the playbook tablet partly because of the security they offer.

Which is a better reading device the kindle or the nook?
Q. Im looking to get a digital reading device and am wondering about the differences between the two. Is the book only for barnes and noble? Which is the better purchase? Are there other features then just reading?

A. Hi, Lindsay Baer, Nook from Barnes & Noble is the best combination of price and features of the eReaders market. When choosing an eReader, you need to consider not only the physical properties of the device, but also compare eBook stores behind it. Sony has never been a contender for any comparison by anyone as they only have like 5 books in their Ebook store and their devices are way overpriced for what they offer. Borders is behind Kobo/Cruz devices in US and as you might of heard, Borders is on a brink of bankruptcy. Kindle and Nook are the only devices to be considered as their eBook stores have over a million of free public ebooks as well as over a million of ebooks that you need to pay for available.
Having that out of the way, you should then decide which screen you want: e-Ink or LCD. It depends on what you're reading. If just black & white novels then the better one would be Kindle or e-Ink Nook from Barnes & Noble. If you read electronic magazines or college text books with a lot of color graphs and charts or childrens' books with a lot of pictures then the better would be Nook Color LCD from Barnes & Noble. Then, you should understand the limitations of e-Ink eReaders - they are limited to be black & white for now they "blink" at each ebooks page turn, they're not too good for web browsing, they need external light source for reading when dark, and they cannot handle videos.
Whichever device you choose, here's the advantages of the Nooks (both e-Ink black & white and Nook Color) over Kindle:
- Any Barnes & Noble store provides free Wi-Fi to Nook's
- Nook allows to lend Nook books for two weeks to friends and family or share with your other devices that run B&N app (PC, MAC, Android phones, Apple iPhone, iPod and iPad, etc.) Barnes & Noble allows (when you walk in with the Nook to B&N store) to read any available eBook for free while in the store via free provided in the store Wi-Fi. With Nook, while in BN store you get exclusive articles from top authors, and great offers including cafe treats and unique deals.
- Nook (unlike Kindle) can be used for library ebooks.
- Nook (unlike Kindle) can be used for renting text-ebooks.
Nook Color is worth mentioning separately as this is a hybrid Android eReader/tablet device, something between Kindle and iPad. Even though Nook Color has LCD touchscreen, it's a new generation screen which is anti-glare coated and is better performing in sunlight and produces less glare all of which are dooming reading on iPad. Also, the screen is amazing and readable/viewable at wide angles.
Overall, Nook Color is more than e-Reader as you can also watch video and use Android applications on it. It's a hybrid device, much more than just an e-Reader but not a full tablet as it doesn't have a camera. If all you want is to read novels, the original e-Ink Nook might be better for you. If you want something more from your device (color graphs and charts of college text books, childrens books, photos and videos, web sites in full color) at half of the price of iPad or Galaxy tab, then Nook Color is your best bet.
Nook Color has several apps that already come with the device (Pandora Internet radio, QuickOffice, etc.) Also, Barnes & Noble recently released Nook SDK and Nook Developer platform that will allow most of the existing 100,000 Android apps be ported to it. Also, you can use the Social Settings screen to link your NOOK Color to your Facebook account and your Twitter account. You can also import all your contacts from your Google Gmail account. Once you have linked to Facebook and Twitter and set up email contacts, you can lend and borrow books, recommend books, and share favorite quotes with your friends.

Torn between what ereader to get my wife?
Q. I'd like to not spend a lot of money, but I also want the one that performs the best, and one that delivers books immediately. I'm looking at the kindle 3 nook/ nook color or maybe a sony reader. Which one in your opinion is best, and why. Which ones do you have to wait for a book after buying it?

I'm also looking at getting an Itouch for myself for ereading and all the other things it does. Any opinions on that?

How can I convince my parents to get me a nook?
Q. I want a regular nook with 3g and wifi when ever I ask them they say no any advice?

A. Hi, I love Bichon Frises, here's the sales pitch for you.
Folks that get an eReader generally read 3-4 times more books than before they got one thus that speaks for the devices (worth the money and useful.) There's advantages of eReaders - for example, you can put MP3's on them and listen while you read and they can hold thousands of books in digital format.
When choosing an eReader, you need to consider not only the physical properties of the device, but also compare eBook stores behind it. Sony has never been a contender for any comparison by anyone as they only have like 20 books in their Ebook store and their devices are way overpriced for what they offer. Borders is behind Kobo/Cruz devices in US and as you might of heard, Borders is on a brink of bankruptcy. Kindle and Nook are the only devices to be considered as their eBook stores have over a million of free public ebooks as well as over a million of ebooks that you need to pay for available.
Several features of Nook's environment are similar to regular books (unlike Kindle's) such as:
- Nook allows to lend books for two weeks to friends or to your other devices that run B&N app (PC, MAC, Android phones, Apple iPhone, iPod and iPad, etc.)
- When you walk in with the Nook to B&N store you're allowed to read any available eBook for free while in the store via free provided in the store Wi-Fi.
- Nook can be used for library ebooks and for renting text-ebooks
You should understand the limitations of e-Ink eReaders - they are limited to be black & white for now, they "blink" at each ebooks page turn, they're not too good for web browsing, they need external light source for reading when dark, and they cannot handle videos.
If all you read is black & white novels then the better one would be e-Ink Nook. If you read electronic magazines or college text books with a lot of color graphs and charts or childrens' books with a lot of pictures then the better would be Nook Color from Barnes & Noble. Nook Color is a hybrid Android eReader/tablet and has USB port (unlike iPad). It has a new generation screen which is anti-glare coated and is better performing in sunlight and for reducing eye strain than iPad's. The screen is one of the best and sharpest on the market and it's viewable at wide angles.
Both tablet has a same price? My real question is which do you think is right for me and reasobnaly priced?

A. http://www.shopper-deals.info/shop.php?k=Samsung+galaxy+tab&c=all

A slightly better tablet than an iPad 2, but with a few drawbacks

Although I bought this for my wife as a birthday present during pre-release sales in NYC, I've since used it far more extensively than her so I've purchased a second Tab 10.1 for myself. As a background, I also have a good amount of experience using a Motorola Xoom (none with the other Android tablets though) and an iPad 2. Anyway, here are my thoughts comparing the Tab 10.1 with the iPad 2. I won't do a comparison with the Motorola Xoom (which, as of writing this review, is the Tab 10.1's major Android competitor) as the two products are really similar. I'll leave the Xoom/Tab 10.1 decision to you. Here are my thoughts:

Operating System/Interface/Web Browsing - Slight edge to the Tab 10.1 running Android 3.1 (Honeycomb). This may just be more of a personal preference as I don't like products (like the iPad 2) which are locked down. I feel a company has no right to tell a consumer how he/she is allowed to use a product (as Apple does with theirs). Anyway, Android 3.1 OS is blazing fast and going along with the Android Open Source Project's philosophy, the OS and by rote, the Tab 10.1, is ultimately configurable. Out of the box, you can easily personalize an Android 3.1 tablet any way you want, and if you can't, there is free software out there to let you do it -- there is no hacking/jailbreaking required. The Tab 10.1's interface is also a lot cleaner than the iPad 2's which can get downright cluttered the more apps you have installed. I'll also note that there doesn't seem to be a discernible difference in the actual speed/performance (loading pages, etc) of the two products. So, we're pretty even so far, but Tab 10.1 clearly gets the edge for one thing -- Flash. Enough said.

Battery life - Strong edge to iPad 2. Both the Tab 10.1 and the iPad 2 are rated for 10 hours. Keeping the screen at about 75% max brightness, I seem to get between about 7 to 8 hours on the Tab 10.1 and 9 to 10 hours on an iPad 2. This may be a result of the screen brightness as I've noticed the Tab 10.1 has a slightly brighter screen at 100% than the iPad 2. Regardless, the iPad 2 has better battery life.

Resolution/Screen - Strong edge to the Tab 10.1's 1280800 screen vs the iPad 2's 1024x768 one. If you think this is negligible, you are very wrong. This means the Galaxy Tab 10.1 screen has a 30% greater resolution than the iPad 2. You'll notice this difference in every thing you do -- not just when watching movies and photos. The increased resolution causes much less eye strain especially when reading webpages. Additionally, the Tab 10.1's widescreen aspect ratio seems to work a lot better for watching anything in HD. It's a shame the iPad 2 uses the dying 4:3 aspect ratio as there is a lot of wasted real estate on the screen in the form of black bars when watching anything in widescreen. With the Tab 10.1, the screen is entirely filled with video.

Cameras - Strong edge to the Tab 10.1. The Tab 10.1 blows the iPad 2 out of the water here and it's not even close. The Tab has a front-facing 2.0 megapixel (vs iPad 2's 0.3 megapixel) camera and rear-facing 3.0 megapixel (vs iPad 2's 0.7 megapixel) camera. Sure, you're never going to replace your P&S/SLR/video camera with a tablet, but it is nice to have a camera on there that can take a decent picture/video when you're in a pinch.

Portability - Even. The Tab 10.1 is a negligible 0.03 lbs lighter and 0.2mm thinner than the iPad 2.

Price - Even. I'm really surprised Samsung didn't undercut the iPad prices, even by $50.

A. Kindle Fire HD is more expensive than Kindle Fire, as it's more advance.

Features below (not audio or video as you've mentioned) can be found on Kindle Fire HD, not Kindle Fire:
- Bluetooth
- HDMI out
- Front Facing Camera
- Higher built in memory
- Android 4.0 OS

Below you can find two more comparisons between the two tablets:
