Do androids update to newer version freely?

Q. I wanted to buy an android phone. but i just wanted to know that if i buy a phone with android 2.1 would it be freely upgradable to 3.1 and more recent versions?

A. You can never upgrade 2. versions to 3. versions. But there are options to upgrade a lower 2. version to higher 2. if minimum hardware requirement of higher version is met in your device. This is the case for 3. versions too. Android 2 versions are specifically meant for mobile phone whereas v3 is for tablets. Version 3 does not have voice calling and messaging capabilities but this requires high end hardware configurations. But upgrade options provision is based on the device manufacture's decision. If there is update then certainly it would be free.

Would updating my OS make my device faster ?
Q. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000 that i want to update from Android 2.1 Froyo to Android 2.2 Froyo , the reason is my galaxy tab has started to freeze and slow down and lag . Will updating it make it faster , and would it erase my files ? PS : i have factory reseted my tablet almost 5 times , it becomes faster but lags again after a few weeks , and no i dont have that many apps , files , music , or photos .

A. try upgrading it

if that does not work then return it

How to upgrade my Tablet's Android version ?
Q. I have got a Tablet (EAGET GPAD i7) from China, with Android version 2.1 on it. I need to upgrade Android to the latest version. Initially i have installed Kies propgram, and tried to connect my tablet to it so i can upgrade Android through it, but Windows XP cannot define that tablet as it does not have a driver.

Does any one has any ideas how to accomplish this ?

A. WWW.SLATEDROID.COM Is Massive Android Tablet Community If You Cannot Find Help There I Do Not no Where I am on There as funthunbsup.
But There are Thousands more Qualified on there to Help You.
I am guessing that an Easier option to Bypass connection problems would be side loading from sd card But Check with SlateDroid First Good Luck ..

Q. I am looking for a good Android tablet, but it seems most of them have bad reviews. The Samsung one runs good now, but I am thinking it will be junk in 5-6 months like every other Samsung product I have ever owned. Anyone know what the best one is right now?
